Paul Robinette is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. His research interests include human-robot trust and deployable autonomous systems. His work in AI-CARING focuses on trust calibration: aligning the use of Smart Assistants with their actual capabilities. He has performed extensive experiments on human-robot trust in time-critical situations in virtual simulations, the lab, and the field. These projects have yielded datasets and software that have been released for the human-robot interaction community and the marine robotics community.
